Our collaborative team came together from Europe and the U.S. with one goal for The Conqueror, and that was to tell the unbelievable story of Jerome Conquest. Here is the team that brought his story to the screen:


Director & Producer - TIMOTHY BLACKWOOD

Timothy Blackwood is a Canadian-American film director, writer, and producer. After studying at the European Film College in Ebeltoft, Denmark, Timothy has traveled the world telling cinematic stories of hope, adventure, and redemption.

His films have screened around the world at festivals including the Cannes Film Festival, The Oxford International Film Festival, and Heartland’s Indy Shorts International Film Festival and have won numerous awards. His feature film screenplay 'A Time To Fish' was shortlisted for the Sundance Institute Screenwriters Lab.

He is the recipient of numerous fellowships and grants. His screenplay Infraction, was acquired by The Moving Picture Institute and will begin production in 2021 with Blackwood directing.


Producer - BRADFORD DOWNS

Bradford Downs is an accomplished producer and musician. He recently produced and acted in the independent feature film 4/20. His other works include the holiday comedy White Elephant and the recently announced Rose All Day. He holds a masters in business administration from The College of William and Mary in Virginia.


Writer - JESSE BLACKWOOD

Jesse is a writer, traveler, and poet. He has written several short stories, available in publications such as “Every Book A Drum”, and recently completed his first novel. A former director of an educational nonprofit and a high school Latin teacher, he has worked closely with those living in poverty and believes in the transformative power of community, storytelling, and education. He is currently working on a collection of poems and a screenplay based on his experiences working in the inner city. He has contributed as a writer for Montague Cervantes since 2016.


Cinematographer - STEPHEN ST. PETER

Stephen currently resides in Los Angeles, where he earned a Master of Fine Arts in cinematography from the American Film Institute. His thesis film “A Teenage Drama” was nominated for best Student Emmy. He has also shot several other shorts that have traveled to festivals around the world. Stephen believes in the power of cinema as a window into our lives that can ultimately promote understanding and unity. He grew up in Norway, where his childhood experiences of skiing and enjoying the natural world led him to seek the same natural beauty in his everyday life and work.


Editor - JAY GAMMILL

Jay is a director and Emmy-nominated editor in Los Angeles. His debut feature film 'Free Samples', starring Jess Weixler and Jesse Eisenberg, premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival. He is also an editor in scripted and unscripted television, with credits including "Single By 30" (YouTube Red), "Hunted" & "The Amazing Race" (CBS).


Sound Editor & Designer - RUNE KRISTIANSEN

Rune is a sound editor and designer based in of Copenhagen, Denmark. He has worked on a variety of television, documentary, and international feature films. He graduated from the prestigious National Film School of Denmark in 2016. He first met director Timothy Blackwood while studying at The European Film College in 2010.


Executive Producer - Jerome Conquest

Jerome Conquest is a professional boxer and community organizer from Philadelphia's inner-city Strawberry Mansion. Jerome has used his status as a professional athlete to help disenfranchised youth in Philadelphia. As a community organizer for over five years, Jerome holds annual Christmas toy drives, back-to-school book-bag programs, and winter coat drives for youth in need. Jerome is founding The Conqueror Foundation, which will build on the community work in his neighborhood of Strawberry Mansion and help at-risk youth and their families. As its first major initiative, Jerome plans to create a community center and boxing gym in Strawberry Mansion which will bring at-risk youth in Philadelphia into the gym and away from street violence.
